I had my car serviced a couple of weeks ago with About Town Mobile Mechanics. I had a minor service plus parts, the price was very reasonable given I had not serviced my car for about 9 months! I have been very happy with how my car has been running since then and I will be using this business again. I actually found out about About Town through WOMOW, so thank you to all the comments everyone has left about their experiences with About Town Mobile Mechanics. I needed a new car battery supplied and installed so I called the racv for a quote they quoted me a $210.00 joining fee and $169.00 charge for the battery with a total cost being $379.00 in total for a new battery, I felt is was a bit too much, so I googled around the net for another business that offer a mobile car battery replacement service and come across about town mobile mechanics Melbourne, I sent them a email for a quote and got an email back in less than 5 Min's, they offered me a new car battery with a 2 year warranty fitted within the hour at my home for only $199.00 inc gst and the battery and even took my old battery away free, I was very happy with the price and top quality service and honesty of the mechanic that come out as he saved me $180.00 it's a great service and very affordable, especially in the hard times. I would use this business again for other repairs!

A+++ What a relief to finally find a mechanic who knows the meaning of the word service! After numerous bad (and expensive!) experiences with other mechanics to fix an ongoing problem (which never got fixed), Rob showed up on time, with a friendly smile and got my car running within the hour! He was very helpful and kept me informed every step of the way - great for a girl who knows nothing about cars! Price was great and he only charged me for what was NEEDED. Honest, quality service. Will definitely use Rob again. Recommend to all.

Friendly, approachable, pleasant, convenient service. Brake pads had to be replaced, but brake fluid levels and engine oils levels also checked. Further advice was also provided that tyres were in need of replacing very soon. For a female driver, this sort of service is very much appreciated! Will be using them again when next service is due.

My power steering had gone, I rang Ace Mobile Mechanics and a few other mechanics that couldn't come to my car and didn't reply back until a few days later, after requesting a quote from About Town Mobile Mechanics, I had a response in no more then 10 minutes and arranged for the car to be fixed the next day, Rob was really good explained everything and didn't rip me off, the Service and Price was A++ will definitely use again.

I'm not exaggerating when I give Rob and Connie the 5 star rating. They were both professional and friendly and the service was excellent.

The price is more than affordable and fair, as well as the quality and kindness through and through. Being a female, it can be difficult to know when you are being taken for a ride within the car industry, specifically mechanics, but Rob was an absolute star and was very honest throughout.

Alternator belt broke and needed replacing. Rob came out, inspected the damage and replaced both the broken alternator belt and the AC/PWR Steering belt (which was severely worn). He also performed several other checks to ensure that the incident hadn't damaged the engine further.

I found the service very convenient and time saving. The mechanic ( Rob) arrived on time and appeared to be very knowledgeable about his trade. I found him to be honest about what needed to be done and about what could wait till later. Not greedy for the $. On test driving my car I found that it drove very smoothly and will now feel safer when driving. I will use the service again and would be happy to recommend the service to anyone. I'm happy!!

it might seem as I'm generous in my praise in that I've rated Rob & About Town in the highest category for all criteria - but that was honestly my experience. My car had been broken down for some time & after chatting to Rob he agreed to come to my home on that day to diagnose the problem. He arrived on time, found the problem (starter motor) very quickly, and had a replacement fitted for an agreed price. I was able to pay by bank transfer, and he even checked a problem my sister was having with her ignition while I was on the computer. Couldn't be happier !!!!

I knew how much the 1st hr of labour was going to cost me before Rob arrived, and the actual labour charge wasn't much more than that. I feel Rob has integrity and didn't do unnecessary repairs - very comforting when you're a "car challenged" female. I also loved the quick service to my home when my car was broken down.

Just wanted to let you know how impressed I am with your service of my car. I was annoyed when I found out (via the children) that you had said some parts such as the fuel filter were rusted on,
which indicates they were not changed as they should have been by my previous mechanics.

The previous mechanics I was very loyal too, and had serviced my car for over 10 years, but I had detected that they were getting too busy as they have lost senior mechanics and just seemed to have too many cars for the available expertise. They often had my car for days before they even got to start on it.

More to the point, my mechanics had the car for weeks, trying different things to get rid of the shudder, you have it for two hours and the shudder (not only under braking but also at idle) is gone!!

The car is so much more comfortable to drive, and I feel safer now it is not shuddering under braking.

You provide a wonderful, professional and reliable service, and I will certainly use you to service the car from now on, and recommend you to anyone who I know needs a mobile mechanic.

Late Sunday 23 Dec 2007, just before Xmas and the radiator has split and leaking badly. I called Rob at 8:30pm and he said he'd call me Monday morning to hopefully source a radiator and fix it. I also called many places Monday morning and it was looking like the car would be out of action until 11th of Jan. Rob called about 9am and said he could do it all Monday. He turned up on time as promised, very sympathetic to my problem, courteous, friendly and efficient, plus finding the supplier had provided the wrong radiator type he managed to transfer it over the same day even though the company had officially closed for the day and was having their Xmas BBQ. All fixed, tested, and fixed some other minor bits, and cleaned up late on Monday afternoon, allowing us to enjoy our Xmas away.

'A woman on my own' I was driving to the pool one night last week. I didn't get far when my car decided not to go any further!! Next morn the RACV diagnosed the problem (bung ignition module) so the easiest thing to do was to have About Town Mobile Mechanics come to do what was required. I had never heard of them before, but what a lovely surprise the experience proved to be. A thorough approach and very reassuring. I was highly impressed with the quality of service ATMM provides. My car required a replacement alternator. The mechanic, Rob, was prompt and informative with his replies to my online quote, offered next-day service, arrived at the time he stated, and was affable and informative about the work being carried out. It's very convenient to have a mechanic come to you, and after bad experiences with a garage it was great to see the work being carried out thoroughly, at a good price (it ended up less than quoted and better than any of the other mobile mechanics I queried) . Rob took care of a few other problems with the car and answered all my questions. I would recommend ATMM to anyone, and will use them again.
